What emergency?

 A story is told of a certain John who went into the office of his HR Director, Ike, for a short discussion. When Ike asked John “What brings you here?” John said, “I have an emergency and hence I needed you to approve an IOU of GHC 4,500 to pay for the hospital fees. My wife is scheduled to deliver our first son a week from today.”   Ike looked at John and asked him in the typical Ghanaian way, “You need the money for what emergency?” John responded, “I need the IOU to pay for the delivery fees of my wife who will be due for delivery in 7 days” he repeated.   The HR Director looked at the man with a stern look and said, “you lack proper planning not money for an emergency that you have personally created.” John’s facial expression changed from a confident man to an expression of disgust like Luis Suarez after Uruguay’s game against  Ghana in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. His loss, my gain

  I was in the office one day Friday afternoon in October 2014 when I received a phone call from Ben. He called to complain about Jude (not his real name), our mutual friend, who had disappointed him. According to Ben, he gave Jude a contract to produce an advert for the church’s devotional guide for 2015 but for about two months now, Jude had not made do with his promise to deliver the first cut of the advert. Being a member of the church and a marketer with a strong yet untapped production background, I asked Ben to give me a chance to try my hands on this project although I knew I had no resources to pull this task through. I requested 2 weeks to deliver the first cut of the advert to him.   Since every advert, tv or radio, begins with a script, I asked Ben if a script for the supposed advert did exist and if it did, he should email it to me to commence work asap.
